Recipe Wednesdays

Hello everyone! Today's recipe is a real fast and easy fix for dinner. For dinner, I made fried noodles. Fried noodles is a versatile dish because you can put almost any vegetables in it. It's also a "one pot dish". It can't get easier than this! If you try this at home, let me in on the experience.

**** I have to tell you that when I cook, I don't use measurements, I just "eyeball" (like Rachael Ray hehehe) and go by taste. These are just approximate measurements. You can always add or take away to serve your pallate. Ok, let's get cooking!****

"Simple Fried Noodles"

Ingredients
1 pound stir fry pork strips (you can also use beef, shrimp, chicken or tofu)
1 pk. chop suey mix
1/2 cabbage cut in strips
1 large carrot, julienned
2 celery stalks, sliced diagonally
1 onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, chopped
3 Tbsp soy sauce
2 Tbsp oyster sauce
1 pk chow mein noodles (10 oz)

Cooking directions

Cook the pork strips for about 5 min. in about 3 tbsp. of oil under medium to high heat. Add the onions, garlic, carrots, and celery. Keep cooking for 5 more minutes and then add the noodles. Add soy sauce and cook for 5 minutes. Add oyster sauce and cabbage. Cook for 5 minutes then add chop suey mix and cook for an additional 2 minutes, continually mixing the noodles. Finally, serve and enjoy!

  1. I gotta try that one of these days. I think I'll substitute the beef with soy protein strips I saw at Down To Earth. :) Thanks!
